Chapter 89 – Reward

Zhou Shiyun glanced at everyone and said lowly, “Do your work. Don’t get distracted.”

The doctors and nurses immediately composed themselves.

Zhou Shiyun looked at Su Jinbei, “Come in with me.” Su Jinbei nodded and obediently followed Zhou Shiyun into a house.

“Say… what would they talk about, the two of them together in a house alone?” Young nurse Lailai asked Lin Qingwei.

Lin Qingwei didn’t have the chance to reply, another doctor cut in, “Of course when a couple is reunited the first thing they’ll do is it.”

Lin Qingwei shook his head, “Aren’t you guys overthinking? This is my Senior Brother we’re talking about. There’s no way they would kiss around in broad daylight.”

Alas, Lin Qingwei was still too young.

Zhou Shiyun and Su Jinbei were alone in the house.

“I’ll take you down the mountain later.”

Su Jinbei’s eyes widened, “I-I’ve just arrived and you’re making me leave?”

Zhou Shiyun pursed his lips. “It’s not very comfortable here. It’s not appropriate for you to stay here.”

“If you can, why can’t I?” Su Jinbei pouted, “Either way, I’m not going.”

“Su Jinbei.”

“That won’t work on me.” Su Jinbei raised her eyebrows slightly, approached him and rubbed her hands in tiny circles on his chest. “Let’s change the topic. I think you need to reward me first. I’ve travelled thousands of miles to celebrate your birthday with you, I bet you’re touched.”

Zhou Shiyun’s expression changed slightly. He grabbed her restless hand and took a quick glance out the window of the house. “Behave.”

Su Jinbei ignored him. She looked up at him with her glistening eyes, looking even more tempting than a demoness.

“Zhou Shiyun, are you going to give me my reward? I’ll get angry if you don’t.”

Zhou Shiyun lowered his gaze to her, his eyes had a hint of helplessness in them.

Su Jinbei continued staring at him and even ‘cooperatively’ rubbed her leg on him, clearly letting him know there was no way she would give in.

After a long time, Zhou Shiyun finally let out a soft sigh and with a smooth twist, he pressed her against the back of the door. No one outside would be able to see from this angle.

“Zhou…” As soon as Su Jinbei raised her eyes, Zhou Shiyun lowered his head to kiss her lips.

She found herself in his warm embrace. He had one hand on her back and one hand on the back of her neck, his fingers gently rubbing her delicate skin causing tingles to run down her spine. Her legs buckled as she felt his kiss gradually transition from its gentle beginning deeper, deeper…

There were people talking outside, some laughing and joking around, but inside was quiet. Only the sound of their breathing could be heard. It was clearly only separated by a single door, yet the two worlds seemed completely different.

Zhou Shiyun’s hand pushed her closer and closer to his body. Su Jinbei melted completely into him. The locking of their lips might seem passionate and fiery, but he was actually secretly holding back.

So he did miss her. In this short period of time, the two of them were separated and lived their own lives. He continued back to his routine of going to and fro his home and the hospital. He was very busy, busy to the point it seemed he had no time to think about her. But, it was only wishful thinking…

Su Jinbei wrapped her arms around his waist, thinking to herself that Zhou Shiyun had a flavor that made her lose her mind, warm, mellow, gentle. It attacked her from all sides, she couldn’t escape it, and could only fall deeper. After a while, she opened her eyes in a daze. The person in front of her had his eyes closed lightly. She could see his long, individual lashes; they were longer than hers. He was wearing a doctor’s coat. Su Jinbei absentmindedly thought, could this be considered… the temptation of the uniform?

“Su Jinbei.” He pulled away a little, his eyes dark, voice husky, “Does this count as a reward?”

Su Jinbei raised her eyebrows and reached up to wipe off a little bit of the red-stained on his lips, “I’ll let you go since I’m quite satisfied with your performance.”

Zhou Shiyun smiled, “Okay, stay here. I’ve still got things to do, you should rest a little.”

Su Jinbei nodded, “So you won’t drive me away anymore, right? I’ve already postponed my activities, I have nothing to do even if I go back.”

Zhou Shiyun opened the door and only spoke right before he stepped out the door, a light “Okay.”
